Get a Library Card

The Bridgman Public Library offers several ways to service Patrons. Please bring a valid driver's license and proof of residency when applying.

Resident Card
Residents, property and business owners in the City of Bridgman, Lake Charter Township, or Chikaming Township may come into the library and apply for a Resident Library Card.
This card will give you full access to all resources available through BPL, including Inter-Library Loan, Library of Things and electronic services like Libby and Hoopla.

Non-resident Guest Card
Non-residents that have a current card from St. Joseph, Lincoln Township, or Berrien Springs libraries may apply for a Bridgman Library Guest Card.  This card will be issued by applying a barcode to the patron’s home library card.
Non-resident Guest patrons are eligible to borrow library materials. Electronic services, Inter-Library Loan and Library of Things are not available.

Non-Resident Paid Card
A Non-resident Paid Card may be issued to anyone living outside the BPL service area who wishes to have full access to all resources available through BPL for a yearly fee of $20. This includes Inter-Library Loan, Library of Things and electronic resources like Libby and Hoopla.

School of Choice Card
This card may be issued to any student currently attending Bridgman Public Schools. It will allow students to borrow books, periodicals, audiobooks and movies and is valid only at Bridgman Public Library. Electronic services, Inter-Library Loan and Library of Things are not available.

Age Qualifications
Anyone age 5+ can have their own card! All minors under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will sign the library card application and will be responsible for any fines that might incur.

Renewing your library card

Library cards are good for two years for a Resident Card and one year for Non-Resident Guest Card, Non-Resident Paid Card and School Of Choice Card.
At the end of this period we will ask you to confirm your address, phone number and email address. This is so we can keep our information as current as possible.

Lost your card? Replacement cards are available at the circulation desk for $1.
