The Bridgman Public Library offers both Resident and Non-Resident library card options. Please bring a valid driver’s license or proof of residency when applying.
Resident Card
If you are a Resident, property or business owner in the City of Bridgman, Lake Charter Township, or Chikaming Township, come into the library and apply for a Resident Library Card.
This card gives you full access to all resources available through BPL, including Inter-Library Loan, Library of Things and electronic services like Libby and Hoopla.
Non-resident Guest Card
If you are a Non-Resident but have a current card from St. Joseph, Lincoln Township, or Berrien Springs libraries, apply for a Bridgman Library Guest Card. This card is issued by applying a barcode to the patron’s home library card.
Non-Resident Guest patrons are eligible to borrow library materials. Electronic services, Inter-Library Loan and Library of Things are not available.
Non-Resident Paid Card
If you are a Non-Resident living outside the BPL service area, apply for a Paid Card. You will have full access to all resources available through BPL for a yearly fee of $20. This includes Inter-Library Loan, Library of Things and electronic resources like Libby and Hoopla.
School of Choice Card
Any student currently attending Bridgman Public Schools may apply for a school of choice card. Borrow books, periodicals, audiobooks and movies from the Bridgman Public Library. Electronic services, Inter-Library Loan and Library of Things are not available.
Age Qualifications
Anyone age 5+ can have their own card! All minors under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will sign the library card application and will be responsible for any fines that might incur.
Renewing your card
Library cards are good for two years for a Resident Card and one year for Non-Resident Guest Card, Non-Resident Paid Card and School Of Choice Card. At the end of this period we will ask you to confirm your address, phone number and email address.

Replacement cards are available at the circulation desk for $1.
Public Computers and Wifi
Library desktop computer use – Free for anyone!
Wi-Fi inside & on the grounds – Free for anyone! Sign-on to: BPL Public Wifi, no password required.
Library Laptops – For resident & paid cardholders. Must stay within the building, there is a 2 hour limit with a $5 per hour late fine.
Print, Fax, Copy, Scan
Print per page – $0.15 B&W / $0.40 Color
Fax – $1 per page, cover page free
Copy per page – $0.15 B&W / $0.40 Color
Scan – Free
Tech Help By Appointment
Staff member Kyle offers tech assistance on basic computer/phone/tablet questions. This includes, but is not limited to, using the library catalog, requesting interlibrary loans, downloading Libby/Hoopla items to your device. Drop in on Fridays from 1-4pm on a first come, first served basis. Or reserve a 60-minute appointment either by completing the online request form, calling the library at 269-465-3663, or speaking with someone at the circulation desk.
3D Printing
3d printing – $0.10 / gram – Pay at pickup (to use a credit/debit card – amount must be at least $5)
Our bed accommodates items up to 8.6”L x 8.6”W x 9.8”H

Study Rooms
Available by appointment. North meeting room accommodates 8 – 10. South meeting room accommodates 1 – 4.
Notary
Available for free by appointment. Donations to the library are always accepted.
HomeBound Delivery
If you are unable to visit the library, please call to schedule an item delivery to your home.
BPL Book Club
The 2nd Wednesday Book Group connects fellow readers while exploring a variety of book genres. Books are available for check out one month prior to the meeting date. Must have a Bridgman Public Library card. New members are always welcome. Come to the conversation every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the community room at 5:30.
Community Room
The Bridgman Public Library Community Room and Patio may be reserved by the residents and groups in the Bridgman Public Library service area. Please see the Community Room Policy and Rental Application for more information.
Community Garden
We have 48, 4′ x 8′ plots available for rent ($15/plot) on a first come, first served basis starting March 1st. Renewing gardeners receive first priority for plot rental if rented by February 28th. Mandatory work day: April 12th
Completion of a registration form is required each year.

Library of Things
Resident & Paid cardholders may check out practical, hands on items. Check out a Mobile Hotspot, Board games, Card games, Yard games, Telescope, Tonie Boxes, Launchpad tablet, sewing machine, metal detector, record player, or ukulele.
Digital Collection
For resident and paid cardholders. With Hoopla enjoy ebooks, audiobooks, comics, movies, TV, magazines, or music everywhere you have a screen-computer, phone, car, even TV.
Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform that offers films, TV shows, educational videos and documentaries.
On Libby borrow ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and more on the Libby app! Available on App Store, Google Play and Kindle Fire.
Interlibrary Loan
For resident and paid cardholders. Michigan’s eLibrary has books, dvds and cds you can borrow! Make your request, it will come to us and we will call you when it’s available.
