Get A Library Card

Visit the Bridgman Public Library’s circulation desk with a driver’s license or proof of residency. 

We offer several kinds of library cards for residents and non-residents.

Do you need to check your due date? Renew books? Check Fines?

The “my account” button is at the top of the page or click the button below. You’ll need your library card number and pin.

What's my Pin?

Your pin is the last four digits of your library card number. 

You can find that on the back of your library card or keychain card.

How Many Books Can I Check out? How Long Can I keep them?

You may have 40 books at a time.
A family is limited to 6 DVDs out at a time.

Loan periods:
2 Weeks – Books, Audiobooks, Wifi Hotspots and certain Library of Things items 
1 Week – Magazines, DVDs, certain Library of Things items

How do I Place a Hold?

1. Use our search bar to find the item you wish to check out.

2. Click on the “Place Hold” button

3. Log in to your account

4. Select either, I want the first available copy or I want a specific copy if you need a Large Print or an Audiobook.

How do I renew My Items?

If they are items from our library, you can call us, stop in at the desk or log into your account, click “view loans,” click the items you wish to renew on the right-hand size and click “renew” at the top of the list.

If they are items from MeL, please call Denise at the library.

How Much are overdue fines?

$0.10 / day – Magazines, Books, Audiobooks and DVDS
$1-$5 / day – Library of Things 
$5 / day – Wifi Hotspots
$5 / hour – Laptops
$1 / day – Vox Books
$1 / day – Tonie Boxes

If an item is lost or damaged beyond repair, our staff will assess the cost and contact you with the price.

*If you owe $5 or less, you may still check items out.

*Every winter we have Food for Fines in which you can donate shelf-stable food to get rid of your overdue fines of any amount.

How Do I get a book you don't have?

Order a book or other item through our Interlibrary Loan program called MeL. Search for a book below.

What is A Library of THings?

Library of Things are functional items you can check out and use. 

Items available: Tonie Boxes, Board/Card/Yard games, Metal Detectors, Sewing Machine, Record Players, Ukuleles, Wifi Hotspots and Laptops (for in-library use only.)

How do I USE Libby?

1. Download the Libby App on your Tablet, Kindle Fire or Phone

2. Find your library

3. Enter your library card number

How Do I USE Hoopla?

1. Register your account on the Hoopla website. You will need your email address, your home library, your library card number and pin.

2. Download the Hoopla App on your tablet, phone or tv. Login.

3. Browse to find ebooks, audiobooks, tv shows and more.

How many items can I check out of Libby and Hoopla?

Libby = 7 items per month

Hoopla = 8 items per month

can I use your Computers?

YES! Anyone can use our computers, wifi, printer, copier, fax and scan. You do not need a library card to use.

What programs do you have on your computers?

Our computers are PCs installed with Windows 10. Our computers have a CD drive and two USB ports.

– Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Edge)
– Google Chrome
– Adobe Acrobat 
– VLC Media Player
– Paint
– Calculator

How much is it to Print, Make copies or Fax?

To print or make copies, it is $0.15 per page for B&W or $0.40 for color. 
Double sided is charged per side.
Faxing is $1.00/sheet, coversheet is free.

Do you have a Notary?

Yes, we have a notary. Please call before you come in to make an appointment. It is free but we do accept donations.

Do I Need to Reserve a Study room?

Yes! Our study rooms are available by reservation. If you are in the library and see they are open, please ask the desk staff to add you to our calendar.

How do I reserve the community room?

To use our community room, you will need to check availability by speaking to a staff member and filling out an application.
